    is vcenter still a requirement for vmware version 8.0, when creating a win 11 vm? (vTPM)

      Yes, vCenter is still required in VMware vSphere 8.0 for certain advanced features, including creating a Windows 11 VM with vTPM (Virtual Trusted Platform Module). Here’s why:

      Windows 11 requires TPM 2.0 for installation, and VMware uses vTPM to emulate this requirement.

      While you can create a basic VM without vCenter, the management of vTPM typically relies on vCenter because:

      1. vTPM devices must be handled through vSphere’s advanced management features.
      2. VMware’s enhanced security mechanisms, such as vSphere Trust Authority, rely on vCenter to ensure security features like vTPM are properly configured.
      3. So, while you can manage standalone ESXi hosts, if you need vTPM for a Windows 11 VM, it’s recommended to use vCenter to handle vTPM provisioning and other advanced features.
